Nolan Emil Windholtz was born Emil Jude Windholtz of German and Filipino heritage.. Although born in the Philippines, Nolan was raised in America, primarily in the States of Ohio, Florida and Louisiana.
It was while an art student at Louisiana Tech University that he had his first encounter with clay. This coincided with his personal encounter with Jesus. He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at a small charismatic church “New Life” in Ruston La. Within a year he had left college and began working at Odell Pottery in Ruston. For seven years he attended The Eagles Nest Church in nearby West Monroe Louisiana. ENC was pastored by George and Clarice Fluitt.
In 1994 he moved to Houston TX. While only in Houston for one year, two very important things happened there. He got involved with a prison ministry. It was there in the Texas State Prison system that he developed his pottery message. Also in Houston, he made his first foreign missions trip to Russia. Emil and his potters wheel had now traveled and ministered in over fifty cities from St. Petersburg to Bratsk in Siberia.
The name change occurred in 2002 after relocating to Panama City FL. Emil became Nolan by the word of the Lord. Also while in PC FL Nolan founded Round Tree Pottery.
Working as a missionary evangelist he has now preached in over fourteen nations. Most recently five trips to Ukraine and fifteen trips to Uganda in east Africa.
Ministering also in: Tanzania, Ethiopia, Israel, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus and Cuba.
The message of the Potter and the Clay is primarily for the Church after all we (the church,) are clay in his hands. Nevertheless the process has a strong evangelistic element. No process illustrates Salvation better than seeing a cheap piece clay becoming beautiful, functional and valuable. Dying to oneself in an obedient walk with the Lord has its benefits.
